This charming hotel is in a quiet area on the outskirts of Caleruega, a small Castilian village in the Rivera del Duero wine producing region, making it a perfect place for visiting the nearby bodegas (cellars). In previous times the grounds were used as grazing pasture for the local Merinas sheep but they are now lovely gardens with a fish pond and an interesting collection of old bee hives! The attractively furnished guest rooms mostly have a shower rather than a bath, and the conservatory style restaurant, overlooking the gardens, is run by a French chef (who also happens to be the owner) with a tempting combination of Castilian/French cuisine.
