This is in the scenic Bocage area between the Souleuvre and Vire valleys, with a large number of marked footpaths near the gite. From here you can also visit the D Day Landing beaches, historic Caen & Bayeux or discover some of the pretty villages & fishing ports.

June 2007 Location

It's a fantastic touring base to get out and discover the region. We strongly recommend the war museum in St Martin des Besaces especially as some of the buildings are still standing. When the sun is shining go for one of the local walks/bike rides, Beny Bocage only 5k away or chill in the garden and watch out for the local wildlife (foxes). Michelle & Alain are extremely accommodating and very helpful, the gite is very well equipped and has provided us with one of the most interesting yet very relaxing holidays.

Stayed in a few gites over the years and this has been the best yet - really well equipped and in a great location.

A wonderful week spent exploring the area. We enjoyed several 'balades' starting from here, especially walk n°18. Most of all, we appreciated the charm and tranquillity of rural France. It doesn't get better then this, we shall return.
