Bergerac is not only well known for its vineyards but it also has a lovely, well-preserved old town with narrow lanes, half-timbered houses and tiny squares with pavement cafés. One particular square is shaded with chestnut trees and boasts a statue of the famous nobleman with the large nose, Cyrano de Bergerac. There is an impressive tobacco museum to visit in the town hall and a wine museum where you can learn about barrel making and wine production. Lively markets are held here during the week where you can savour the delights of Périgord gastronomy including fois gras and truffles. Canoeing in the Dordogne river (1k).

This new residence of 86 maisonettes is just 500m from the centre of Bergerac and close to a park with a fitness trail and a golf practice area (1.5k). On site facilities include a partly covered heated pool (open the same dates as the residence), sauna, fitness room, lounge with fireplace and children's play area.
