The seaside resort of Carantec faces the Bay of Morlaix, which is dotted with dozens of tiny islands which make up an ornithological reserve. At low tide there's a walkway from Carantec harbour across to Ile Callot, a lovely little island with dunes and magnificent beaches. Nearby St Pol de Léon is an interesting town to visit - it's a great centre for vegetable growing and a visit to the Tuesday market by the cathedral is not to be missed.

The Résidence du Golf is an attractive low rise complex with 65 apartments alongside the 9-hole Golf de Carantec and just a stroll away from the beach. On site is a heated outdoor pool (15m x 7m, open June - end Sept), an indoor pool (10m x 5m, open all year), plus sauna, gym and lounge area. Breakfast available for 10 euros per person. Tv hire 40 euros per week.
