YP0006 Dolus, Ile d'Oléron

Oléron is the largest of France's west coast islands - 30k long by 6k wide, it has many glorious beaches and a climate a degree or so warmer than the nearest mainland. It is perfect for exploring on foot, bike, by little tourist 'train' or horseback, or skimming its seas on a windsurfer or surfboard. The island is reached by a bridge that offers stunning views of both mainland and island.

Small complex of 33 cottages in large grounds shaded by pine trees, with 3 interconnecting unheated outdoor pools (18m x 8m & up to 1.6m deep, Apr-Sept) & paddling pool. Jacuzzi, sauna and gym on site. Situated in Dolus, 5k from the west coast beaches and even less from the oyster beds that are a feature of the east of the island. The village has daily markets in high summer, in the flower-filled pedestrian area. Tv hire 40 euros per week. Breakfast available for 10 euros per person.

Max: 2/4 - Single storey cottage. Living area with sofa bed and pull-out bed. Kitchenette (microwave + small hob). Double bedroom. Shower/wc. Small open grounds and terrace with garden furniture.

Max: 4/6 - As above except wc is separate and there is an additional twin bedroom.

Bed linen & towel hire - 14 euros per person.

End of stay cleaning - 56 euros.

Baby facilities - Cot hire 27 euros per week.
