YYL003 L'Etang de Besse, St Hilaire de Riez

St Hilaire de Riez is one of the less known Vendée resorts, between St Jean de Monts and Les Sables d'Olonne. This stretch of coast, the Côte de Lumière, has beautiful beaches of pale sand backed by pine forests & the area is popular for cycling, walking or riding, with many marked paths. Visit Ile de Noirmoutier (accessible by causeway at low tide) or the excellent Puy du Fou medieval theme park.

The Domaine de l'Etang de Besse is a well established 3-hectare site with 233 pitches alongside a forest, 1.5k from the beach. Here you can be as active as you like - bikes can be hired on site to take along the local cycle tracks or you could go riding, learn to sail or just head for the beach & relax.

Max: 4/5 - Chalet style mobile homes have living room with table/chairs, padded seating (converts to dble bed), kitchen corner (2 ring hob + microwave), dble & twin bedrm, shower, wc. French windows to wooden terrace with garden furniture. Only electric bbq permitted (not provided).

Max: 6 - As above but with 2 dble bedrms and 1 with bunk beds. Kitchen area has 4- ring hob + microwave. Wooden terrace is covered.

Bed linen hire - 10 euros per bed.

End of stay cleaning - Approx 52 euros.

Baby facilities - Hire of cot and high chair kit 25 euros per week.

SPORTS - Tennis, boules, table tennis & volleyball.

FOR CHILDREN - Free children's clubs for 4-11 yrs (arts & crafts etc) & for teenagers (12-15 yrs), weekdays in Jul/Aug. Play area.

OTHER ACTIVITIES - Aquagym. Sailing 3k.

FACILITIES - Sun terraces with loungers. Bike hire.

SWIMMING - Outdoor heated pool (12m x 20m & 0.8m-1.4m deep, open 12/5-15/9) with waterslide and paddling pool. Indoor heated pool (6m x 10m & 0.8m-1.4m deep, open Apr-Oct) with jacuzzi.
