For those seeking a relaxing holiday away from the usual tourist routes, Amaya is ideal. Surrounded by wheat growing countryside and not far from the area's largest mountain, this is a quiet but friendly community where the locals are mainly farmers. This part of Castile is also a popular nesting ground for birds of prey and if you are lucky you will may see falcons, eagles & vultures including the Lion vulture which is the largest species found in the Iberian Peninsula. Casa El Hidalgo is a large, semi-detached house next to an empty house in the centre of Amaya and is one of 3 we feature here (also see ZI0019 and ZI0020, both Max 4 on our website).
