Just a short drive from the campsite is San Vicente de la Barquera, an attractive fishing port and one of the loveliest and most popular resorts on the Cantabrian coast. It has a well preserved old town with narrow winding streets and an elegant Gothic church, and its gorgeous sandy beach attracts visitors from far and wide in the summer. Another extremely charming little resort is Comillas (6k) which has a harbour, pretty cobbled streets and squares, a lovely beach and a good choice of places to eat including the very famous El Caprichio restaurant designed by Gaudi.

The Camping Playa Oyambre is a well managed site with 200 pitches in lovely countryside that has good views of the fabulous Picos mountains and is an area ideal for walking and cycling. It is only 1k on foot from the beautiful Oyambre beach so is popular with both Spanish and foreign visitors. There is a good sized outdoor pool with a shallow section for children, a play area, a well stocked mini-mart and large bar/cafeteria plus a restaurant. The management are very friendly and speak English too!

Max: 2/4 - Living area with compact kitchen corner (2 ring hob & m/wave - no oven) which leads out to a terrace with patio furniture. Twin bedroom and room with bunk beds. Shower/wc.

SWIMMING - Unheated outdoor pool (17m x 7m and 1.7m deep) and children's pool (4m x 4m and 50cms deep), both open mid June-mid Sept.
