The small community of La Florida is perched on a hilltop just outside the village of Labarces. The newly opened El Sopalo caves are just 2k from here and with their incredible rock formations, including very unusual horizontal stalagmites and stalagtites, they are fast becoming one of Cantabria's main tourist attractions. This simple but pleasant detached house is one amongst a few others tucked away in this peaceful hamlet and is definitely ideal if you are looking to 'get away from it all'.

Simply furnished accommodation features kitchen/diner with mini oven (no full size oven). Living room with fireplace. Dble bedrm. Bathroom/wc. 1st floor has 2 sgle bedrms plus small sitting room with desk. W/machine in utility room. Electric heaters. Narrow grassy area at front plus gravelled driveway with garden furniture.

August 2007 Sightseeing

Comillas beaches are good but for rocky coves go west. Llanes is a very pleasant town with good choice of 'menu del dia'. From Fuente Dé take the cable car and walk to Cabaña Veronica for fantastic views
