Although this part of Galicia is quite a populated area it remains an undiscovered and unspoilt region of Spain known as the 'Rias Bajas' which are large sea water inlets well known for the quality of their shellfish. A tourist train will take you on a guided tour of the typical fishing villages of O Grove and La Toja, and the coast with its marvellous beaches including the beautiful white sands of La Lazanda can be found within 1k. Seafood, which is taken very seriously here, is found on all restaurant menus and is especially delicious accompanied by a glass of Riveiro, a local white wine.

In a lovely hilltop setting with pretty views overlooking the distant sea and estuary, Casa Ameiros is an old country house in San Vicente do Mar, 5k from O Grove. Nicely converted into a modern two storey building, there are just 8 stylish apartments alongside which there is an outdoor pool 12m x 8m & 1.5m deep (open June to end Sept, subject to weather), parking area and laundry room. Guests are also welcome to use the facilities of the Mar Atlántico hotel just along the road (500m) which is run by the same owners - see HS1131.

Max: 6/7 - Ground floor apartments have a small terrace with garden furniture and direct access to the pool whilst 1st floor apartments have a balcony. Each has a kitchen (hob & m/wave) and a living room with single sofa bed plus a double and twin bedroom. Bathroom/wc. Some have a 3rd twin bedroom whilst others have a larger kitchen.
