Travelling with us
Whether you're travelling with your family, on a motorcycle or bicycle, with your pet or as a disabled passenger travelling to France and Spain is easy with Brittany Ferries.
Boarding our ships
This short film gives an insight into the surprisingly complex process of loading our ships. We aim to make boarding and dis-embarking efficient and straightforward for customers, but we know waiting in the car lanes can be a bit frustrating - particularly if you have arrived early and then see cars that have arrived after you boarding first.
Travelling with young children
Taking the family to France or Spain with Brittany Ferries is so easy - and far less hassle than flying. Choose sailings to suit from our wide range of routes direct to Brittany, Normandy and northern Spain. You'll arrive far closer to your holiday, meaning less time at the wheel, and more time with the family. Simply pack your car with all you need, drive on board and let the fun begin!
What's it like for disabled travellers?
If you’re travelling to France or Spain and you or one of your party has a disability or impaired mobility, you may find the following film informative and reassuring. The film gives you an idea of what to expect, particularly if you or one of your party is using a wheelchair. It is important to note that the levels of assistance and facilities on each ship will vary but we would be happy to address your individual needs at the time of booking. Please contact us for detailed information or further support.
Travelling with your pet
Hate the thought of leaving your pet behind? Then why not take it with you with Brittany Ferries and the Pet Travel Scheme? On board, your pet will travel in the comfort and familiarity of your car, where you can visit them during the crossing. Some sailings even offer dedicated kennels and pet friendly cabins.
Taking your caravan by ferry
Travelling by ferry with your caravan is incredibly simple. Drive on just like all the other cars and park up! You'll find our car decks have plenty of space. There are some wonderful camp-sites throughout both countries - and compared to busy British roads, driving in France and Spain is much more of a pleasure.
Travelling by motorcycle
France and Spain are ideal for motorbike touring with miles of good roads, fantastic scenery and plenty of comfortable places to stay. Your bike will be carefully secured on the car-deck for the duration of your sailing.
Travelling by bicycle
Taking your bike across the Channel is surprisingly easy and affordable. Simply walk it onto the car deck where it will be safely secured, then relax whilst enjoying your sailing. Unlike air travel, there is no need to dismantle the bike, or to wonder whether it will arrive from the luggage hold in one piece. You have a tandem? No problem. Tandems and bikes are all the same great low price.
