From Bayeux to Eindhoven, with love.

For the 7th anniversary of the twinning of the city of Bayeux with the city of Eindhoven (Netherlands), a special festival will be held. It includes La Ronde de Bayeux (an international cycling race), a philharmonic concert, a flag throwing demonstration and a flame ceremony in which the flame will be carried by Dutch cyclists to Eindhoven.

This splendid cathedral is a magnificent example of Gothic architecture. Originally built to a Romanesque design in the 11th century, very little of the original architecture remains as it has been rebuilt over time.

Standing opposite the British War Cemetery, the Bayeux Memorial is inscribed with the names of over 1,800 men who lost their lives in the early stages of the Normandy Campaign.

Standing opposite the Museum of the Battle of Normandy and the Bayeux Memorial, the Bayeux War Cemetery is the largest Commonwealth war cemetery in France.

Bayeux was the first town liberated during the Battle of Normandy in 1944 and it is fittingly the home of a Museum dedicated to the Battle that raged for over 2 months across the region.
