Landmarks and Historic Buildings

St Malo cathedral has undergone several renovations and repairs over the centuries, particularly after it was bombed during the Second World War. With some magnificent stained glass windows, the interior is bathed in beautiful coloured light when the sun shines through.

The cathedral is generally Romanesque in design but has a Gothic altar. In the chapels of the north aisle are housed the tombs of 2 local heroes - the explorer Jacques Cartier and the naval Lieutenant General René Duguay-Trouin.
