Jardin des Plantes

Ile de France
Great Outdoors

The Jardin des Plantes is France's most important botanical garden and one of the 7 departments of the Paris Natural History Museum. Renowned for its huge greenhouses, the largest of their kind when they were built in the early 19th century, the Jardin des Plantes has many different exhibitions and plant species from the rainforests, arid deserts like the Sahara, and the savannah under their glass.

There is also an alpine garden, an ecological garden, a rose garden and many, many more different areas. Kids will love the labyrinth and the stegosaurus garden where a model of this ancient dinosaur stands in a garden of archaic plants that have descended from those around in the era of the dinosaurs!
