The municipal museum of Versailles, the Musée Lambinet contains collection on history, decorative arts and fine arts. The museum holds many historical artefacts from the Revolutionary period, original 18th century furniture in period rooms, several sculptures by Jean-Antoine Houdon, and paintings from the 16th to 20th century including Flemish, Italian and post-Impressionist works.
