Church of St Vicente

Attractions and places of interest
Landmarks and Historic Buildings

Potes has 2 churches of St Vicente situated next to each other - the old and the new. The most ancient parts of the old church date from the 14th century with newer parts added in the 17th century. It is a wonderful mix of architectural styles but is predominantly Gothic in design and is today the Tourist office of Potes. In the19th century, the newer church was built with some beautiful Baroque 18th century altarpieces brought from the Dominican convent of San Raimondo. It is wonderful place to spend some time in quiet contemplation and is well attended by the locals.
