A great entertainment area, El Sardinero, has much to offer visitors with the luxurious Gran Casino Sardinero on the waterfront, and the huge sports stadium, the Palace of Sports. The area is situated around the wonderful Playa El Sardinero which is made up of 2 beautiful long stretches of fine golden sand that are separated by the pretty Jardines de Piquío. An urban beach in the heart of the city, Playa El Sardinero is sheltered and has lots of facilities including toilets, showers, chairs and parasols as well as a fantastic promenade to walk along and enjoy the vew. The beaches are popular with families and are great for water sports enthusiasts, especially surfers and windsurfers.

On the north of the city, the 13,000 m² gardens of the Jardines de Piquio nestle between the beaches of El Sardinero, providing stunning views out to sea.
