FERRY & HOTEL
Hotel de France - Les Fushsias, St Vaast la Hougue
France > Normandy > ST VAAST LA HOUGUE
In a sheltered location surrounded by lush Normandy countryside, the small fishing port of St Vaast farms some of the finest oysters in France so it's no surprise to find that they feature on almost every restaurant menu in town. In the centre, close to the port, this delightful family run hotel nestles in wonderful sub tropical gardens filled with centuries-old fuchsias, eucalyptus and banana trees and it is amongst this haven of tranquility that you find 3 charming buildings that house the individually styled bedrooms, the breakfast rooms and the locally well known gourmet restaurant. Whilst here we recommend a visit to Maison Gosselin, a veritable Aladdin's cave of goodies found in Rue de Verrue, and no trip would be complete without visiting Tatihou island - either by boat or on foot at low tide.
