FERRY & HOTEL
Hotel Ibis Périgueux Centre, Périgueux
France > Aquitaine > PERIGUEUX
The old Roman town of Périgueux with its impressive Byzantine cathedral lies on the banks of the Isle river and is the capital of the Dordogne. It is a town of 2 parts – Roman and medieval - and an easy walk around the centre takes in all the main sights including the Mataguerre tower which is all that is left of the old town walls, and Rue Limogeanne, a lovely street full of atmosphere and interesting buildings. Twice weekly markets offer the very best in local produce from every sort of vegetable you can imagine to home made jams, truffles and spiced sausage not forgetting of course the regional speciality, foie gras. And you could not be better placed to explore this historic town than at the Ibis. Right in the centre, it's alongside the river and close to the cathedral. You can relax in the bar or on the terrace before dining in the lovely restaurant and then enjoy a comfortable night in an air conditioned bedroom complete with en suite shower/wc. Hotel parking is limited but there is free public parking nearby.
Restaurant closed Xmas & New Year.
