FERRY & HOTEL
Parador, Santo Domingo
Spain > La Rioja > SANTO DOMINGO
Founded in the 11thC by the saint after whom the town is named, Santo Domingo was built for the Compostela pilgrims and is one of the most important stopping points on the Way of St James. The cathedral's most unusual feature is a caged cockerel and hen which are central to the miracle that supposedly took place here and visitors in their thousands come each year to see them. Originally a 12thC hospital and resting place for pilgrims, this extremely stylish Parador with its stone arches and wooden beamed ceilings gives an overall impression of quiet luxury and a real sense of history. As well as standard rooms superior plus rooms, which are more spacious and have a king size bed and jacuzzi, are available. Hotel parking approx. 5€/night & garage parking 14€/night.
