What is a breakage deposit?

A breakage deposit is taken on arrival at the property.

At all casas a deposit of €150 is payable in cash on arrival. For gites and cottages this deposit varies between €80 and €900 but where it is higher than €150 the excess amount can be paid by sterling cheque made out to Brittany Ferries but handed over to the caretaker/owner on arrival.

For apartments, chalet camping and villas in France, the deposit varies between €100 to €800. This can be held by credit/debit card details being given except at some sites where only cash is accepted. In these cases the amount will be a maximum of €300. At villas with pool the deposit is up to €750 (credit or debit card held).

If you are taking your pet an extra deposit may be requested. Details will be provided with your travel documents.

Your booking confirmation will show the exact amount payable.

In the event of major damage, part or all of the balance will be retained. The balance will be refunded by cheque on return to the UK.
