As leaving our much indulged Westie (Mac) in kennels is an option we wish to avoid I, with the assistance of my husband and daughter, set about making arrangements to take him with us to Normandy.
Our regular local vets practice gave very helpful advice and instigated the necessary treatments. Mac slept in the car on both legs of the ferry crossing and arrived in France rested and ready for action.
A perfect break for all of us and we didn't have to leave him behind!
Normandy is a great place for walking and he loved the freedom of the forests and was more than willing to endure the lead when walking along his beloved sand dunes. Staying off the beach, a requirement in summer, caused him no grief as he quickly learned that away from the coast were places he could go where humans were not at a premium.
He made lots of new friends and the local cows were more than a little fascinated by this micro mutt with attitude. Exhausted by his daily activities he was often resting when we crept out for a meal at a local restaurant, and he slept the night through. A perfect break for all of us and we didn't have to leave him behind!
