About Normandie

(COVID-19) To ensure the safety of both our passengers and crew, life on board has changed - new procedures are in place and facilities may be limited.

Ship information and on board services

Following the success of the Bretagne, Brittany Ferries commissioned the Normandie in 1991 for the route between Portsmouth and Caen.

Named after the French region of the same name, it is decorated in traditional Norman style and colours, and features first-rate on-board facilities, including excellent diningshopping and live entertainment.

Please note that on busier sailings a small number of vehicles may be parked in an open area on deck.

Normandie's interior design takes its inspiration from the famous horse racing traditions of the region and the ship has the atmosphere of a grand hotel.

On board you'll enjoy award-winning service and top-class facilities, not to mention French chefs and friendly bi-lingual staff, all combining to create a truly French experience from the moment you drive aboard.
