Accessibility on Connemara

Here we'll explain what you need to know about booking with us and what it's like to travel on board Connemara as a passenger with disability or reduced mobility.
making your Booking
Whether you are travelling in a vehicle or as a foot passenger, if you have any special requirements, please let us know before you book and also when you check in.
Call Reservations on 0330 159 7000 to discuss options and book your sailing, especially if:
- You have reduced mobility / are in a wheelchair / use a mobility scooter
- Have a visual or hearing impairment
- Have a disability
- You require medical equipment (such as oxygen tanks)

Please check in 90 minutes before departure.
With a vehicle
Passengers travelling in a wheelchair in a standard car will be parked on Deck 5 providing easy access to the ship and wheelchair-accessible cabin. A sticker will be placed on your vehicle at check in to indicate this.
Please note that parking on Deck 5 is on an open deck. We recommend you wash your vehicle within a few days of sailing to remove any remaining sea salt residue.
If you are traveling in a larger car, vehicle or motorhome, and parked on Deck 3 you will have access to the escalator which goes to deck 5, but will have to access the main passenger areas via a 110m long corridor. If you are parked on Deck 1, 2, then you will need to use the stairs to access the escalator to Deck 5. If you are parked on Deck 4 it is only accessible by stairs.
WHEELCHAIR USERS & REDUCED MOBILITY
There are no lifts on board Connemara. An escalator is available from Deck 3 to Deck 5, all other decks are accessible by stairs and all cabins are accessed via stairs.
Connemara has one wheelchair-accessible cabin located on Deck 5. It is on the same deck as all passenger facilities, including our bilingual Information Desk.
- 2 bunk-style berths
- An alarm and telephone
- Wheelchair-accessible bathroom with washbasin, toilet and shower.
This cabin is primarily designed for wheelchair users; and early booking is essential. It can be booked by customers with disabilities who do not use a wheelchair however, wheelchair users will be given priority and non-wheelchair customers may be required to move to an alternative cabin.
Access to the main public facilities on Deck 5 is convenient and comfortable for all passengers.
If you or a member of your party has impaired mobility or if you are travelling with small children, you may find accessing some areas of the ship challenging. Some stairs are steep and not all car decks are accessible by the escalator.
