FERRY & HOTEL
Hotel Ibis Styles Ouistreham, Ouistreham
France > Normandy > OUISTREHAM
As many people are aware, Ouistreham is convenient for an overnight stop either on arrival or before leaving France by ferry but there is so much more to this little resort than the port. Liberated by British troops during the Battle of Normandy it's a great place to stay when visiting the Landing Beaches and numerous D-Day memorials. Or, if you don't want to take the car or stray far from where you are staying, the village itself has lots to offer - 2 D-Day museums, one of which is within a bunker and tells the story of the liberation, a superb sandy beach where in summer you can try your hand at various watersports, fishing, land yachting or kite surfing, or if you prefer something a little less energetic why not visit the casino or the highly recommended spa centre within the Hotel Riva Bella (HF1893). As well as all this, the city of Caen is an easy drive or bus ride and is great for shopping and Bayeux, famous for the tapestry, is certainly worth visiting too. The Ibis is a friendly hotel opposite the ferry terminal, yet not far from the village centre and beach. It has comfortable bedrooms with large beds, a stylishly modern bar where complimentary tea and coffee is available, and its restaurant is fast gaining an excellent reputation. The staff are welcoming too! Hotel parking approx. 5€/night or free public parking nearby.
Restaurant closed 1-15/8, 15/12-1/1 & Sat/Sun all year.
