FERRY & HOTEL
Hotel Restaurant La Hoirie, Sarlat
France > Aquitaine > SARLAT LA CANEDA
Sarlat, medieval capital of the Perigord Noir, is one of the most attractive and most visited towns in France which is hardly suprising considering it has more listed buildings per square kilometre than any other town in Europe! It is also a food lover's paradise, famous for its local foie gras and truffles which are reportedly amongst the best in France, and people come from all over to enjoy the many food festivals and markets that take place throughout the year. Often used as a location for films, it has a well preserved old town where beautiful yellow sandstone buildings jostle for pride of place along the narrow winding lanes and you can while away the hours exploring lovely artisan shops and the vast array of tempting cafés, bars and restaurants. The Hotel Restaurant La Hoirie is in fabulous wooded grounds 2k out of town and is a former hunting lodge and stables together with a more recently added annexe (with lift). Bedrooms are in all 3 buildings and most have a shower as opposed to a bath. There is also a charming evening restaurant and you have the added benefit of an outdoor swimming pool.
