Customer testimonials about Brittany Ferries golf
At Brittany Ferries we are lucky enough to receive many emails from customers and groups who have experienced excellent service and have enjoyed a tailor-made golf holiday or break.
Just a quick note to say a huge thank you for all your help in arranging, then rearranging bits of - our golf holiday! It was absolutely brilliant and we all enjoyed ourselves very much indeed. We hope you will have another similar deal on offer next March! The courses were in excellent condition, the weather sublime and the hotel good too and we appreciate you organising the smooth sea crossing as well!
I have been using Brittany Ferries for a number of years now and the last 3 years I have gone twice in March for 3 day golf trips. In fact I am going again on Friday with the "Derek Matravers" booking! The feedback from everyone who has ever been on one of your golf trips has always been excellent! The organisation and patience you provide for us old golfers is amazing. We played St Malo, Les Ormes, and Dinard this year and all 3 courses were in very good condition considering the weather and time of year. The L'Univers hotel is just right. Ideally situated in the walled city close to very good shops and restaurants. They accommodate us "roast bifs" very well and we really enjoy our stays there. Parking is a bit difficult but no real problems.
Just a quick note to say a big Thanks for planning and sorting the great trip we had last week. We'd really recommend both golf courses and the hotel (though Lorient is not the most scenic of Brittany Towns.) The courses and hotel were all really welcoming, expected us and were helpful, so all really great. Even having to change our return crossing because our original was cancelled cos of the weather was easy with your main-desk colleagues. That's the third small trip you've organised for us and all have been really well sorted. I travel a fair bit and tend to do my own independent bookings but your organising, booking the tees etc and the very competitive pricing means we'll definitely be in touch later in the year to ask you to book Brittany Trip No.4 for us in 2020.
Golf Desk - really helpful team and very pleased with your support with the challenges I had due to one tour member breaking her wrist and two members having to cancel due to family problems. Ferry crossings - both crossing went really well, overnight crossing was really smooth so we managed to get some sleep and the return fast ferry was perfect. Hotel Diane - can't recommend this hotel highly enough, all the staff were terrific, rooms excellent; we stayed at the same hotel last year, they remembered us and we received a really warm welcome back. Golf - 4 of the 5 we played were the same as last year and we really enjoyed them all. We added Des Ormes this year and liked that one a lot as well. I took the decision to play 'preferred lies' at all of the courses as, similar to UK, the fairways were very dry due to hot summer and that worked well. I know that some of the courses we played are 'links' and have dry and fast fairways but we were on holiday and the preferred lies made for a better all-round experience. The greens were excellent. Overall the trip was a great success, many thanks for the part your team played in that.
From the start right through, everything ran well. The ferry over was good with a swift check In. Both the courses were absolutely fantastic and will definitely be looking at returning to them. Accommodation was ideal in a good location and not too far from the courses. Only thing I will say is that the parking was limited in the hotel which could have been an issue, however, it was not for us. Thanks again Brittany ferries for a fantastic trip.
Once again a truly excellent trip from Booking to setting foot off the ship. The process for booking was easy and your teams assistance in getting the extra night at our chosen Hotel was as an extra bonus which was appreciated by us all , especially our wives who had not experienced the Hotel Universe and its location in St Malo before. We ate in the a la carte restaurant on board Bretagne on the way out and the food was truly beautiful , what a treat and a wonderful way to start the break. Once again the Golf courses were in terrific condition and the welcome we received as usual was warm (pity my golf was not up to that standard). The return trip was serene as the weather was kind all week (sorry perhaps not your doing). All in all a lovely experience which we will be doing again next year with our wives , of course that will be after the trip the boys have have planned with you once again in June 2019
The trip was excellent and hard to fault. Both courses were amazing, Val Andre was perfectly manicured and picturesque. Sable D'or was lovely also, the tree lined fairways and water hazards created a challenging but thoroughly enjoyable experience. Staff at both courses were friendly and helpful. The Hotel Diane was also wonderful. The rooms, staff and general service couldn't have been better. The itinerary was also well planned and the ferry crossings brilliant - great facilities. We even spotted a pod of Dolphins! In summary, all the timings worked well, the holiday presented excellent value for money and every aspect was great quality.
Dinard Golf Club and its staff as delightful as ever. It was such a perfect day that we appreciated the sea from the first seven holes in a way that we had not done before. Play was irritatingly slow as usual but happily it was almost a pleasure to sit on the bench on every tee and enjoy the view. The pre-ordered breakfast is very well done with perfect croissants and more butter than I have ever seen in France. Grand Large Mercure Hotel was clean and sound with helpful staff save that a number who used the bar said the staff were rather incompetent. The underground car park is extremely tight for those with larger cars. L’Edulis Restaurant has very good food but is a bit disorganised. La Citadelle Restaurant is excellent in every way. Almost a good enough reason to go back to Granville on its own. Granville Golf Club is a delightful quality course with very helpful staff though its fairways have suffered badly from the hot dry spell – preferred lies essential. With a 09.00 start each day we were never held up – almost a unique experience in France. La Bretagne was as good as ever, especially dinner in Les Abers, though infuriating that they make it almost impossible to buy wine until everyone is at the table. Normandie Express is an excellent quick return route. All your staff were consistently helpful.
