Attractions and places of interest

The Musée des Ursulines showcases regional archaeological discoveries as well as a collection of fine arts. Housed inside a 17th century Ursuline convent, the museum has exhibits of archaeological finds including coins, pottery, weapons and ceramics from the Bronze and Iron Ages, Gallo-Roman times and the medieval era.

There is also an ethnography collection highlighting how life in Mâcon proceeded during the past, especially in the vineyards and on the river, and the fine arts collection contains artworks from the French and Flemish painters of the 16th century to contemporary artists.
