Building began on this Gothic cathedral, which houses the tombs of François II, the last Duke of Brittany and his wife Marguerite de Foix, in 1434. Although the construction wasn't completed until the 19th century, the Gothic architectural style is consistent throughout and it was one of the last cathedrals to be completed in this style in France. François' tomb, carved by Michel Colomb, is widely regarded as a Renaissance masterpiece and the high-vaulted ceiling (120 feet high) and white walls make for a beautifully light and airy interior.
