Deauville's Clairefontaine racetrack is still the only triple discipline racetrack on the Normandy coast showcasing flat, trotting and obstacle courses. Races are held in July, August and October and the course has facilities for families, including a creche. With stud farms, a world-renowned training centre, and national and international events and competitions all through the year, the town's reputation for equestrianism has earned it the right to host the international polo at the 2014 World Equestrian Games being held in Normandy.
